2017

It all started with a simple “Hey” on an online dating app in October. After a few weeks of chatting, we finally decided to meet up at a coffee shop for our first date in November. We really hit it off, as we spent a couple hours talking and walking around. And the night ended with a kiss on the forehead!

Our next date was less than a week later – at downtown Portland – giving out food and clothing to the homeless one evening. It may not have been super romantic, but it was a really nice way for us to get to know each other more and help out the community.

Our 3rd date was a bit more normal, as we went to see the Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo. It was a really nice evening…and we walked all around the zoo to see the different light displays, as well as any animals that were out. After taking the Max train back to Beaverton, we spent another couple hrs just sitting in the car talking and getting to know each other more. This was really starting to feel like something special!

For our next date, I invited Norina for dinner at my condo. I cooked up a pork loin and made a recovery quinoa salad. The salad turned out really good (she thought I bought it from Whole Foods or New Seasons) – but the pork loin was a disappointment. After dinner, we watched our first movie together – live action Beauty and the Beast. It was a really wonderful evening!

I believe we had 1 more date before Christmas – and this was to check out the Christmas Lights at Peacock Lane. It was nice…but overrated. But it was just really nice to spend time together again!

I then headed up to Vancouver for a week to spend Christmas with Andy and Yeny…but the whole time could only think about Norina (and text each other). I came back right before New Year’s though… and we spent our first New Year’s Eve together that night…and would start the New Year off together!
