Just finishing a longer trip in December, and a fairly big one coming up in February, we decided that January would be a good time for us to go to Astoria. We’d been trying to find a good time to go, but just couldn’t find the right time – well with the crabs calling is from the winter waters, it was the perfect time, and Imelda was happy to host us!
The Plan
1/25 – 1/27
Originally, we were going to go on MLK weekend, but the forecast was rain all weekend, so we decided to postpone it for a week. Thank goodness we did, because it was a nice, comfortable clear weekend when we went! We drove out on Friday evening, with the plan to do go up into Washington on Saturday for a longer day, and then stay closer in on Sunday, so that we wouldn’t get back home too late that evening.
