Rowena Crest: 10/4

Viewpoint

We started off the day with a quick breakfast, and then drove straight to Rowena Crest. Before hiking we went straight to the horseshoe road overlook and took some pictures here. Was able to get some pretty nice ones as there wasn’t really anybody else around – but the group selfie proved to be a bit difficult..

McCall Point Hike

After we had enough of the viewpoint, we started our hike up to McCall Point. Unfortunately, we were a little late this year in terms of fall colors. Most of the trees were devoid of any leaves whatsoever, but it actually made some nice looking pictures. And since it was a clear day out, we were able to see a few different mountain tops as well! Overall, it was a really nice ~4-5 mile hike!

Hood River

After our hike, we were pretty hungry, so went back into the city of Hood River to get some pizza from Double Mountain Brewery. While waiting, we walked around town for a little bit, and saw some cool murals. We wound up taking our pie out to the river, as we watched wind and kite surfers while enjoying our lunch.

Draper Girls Country Farm

Our last stop for the day was at Draper Girls Country Farm to pick some apples! There were still quite a lot of apples and varieties to be had, and we all enjoyed some apple tastings while picking and climbing. (Also had some silly fun with our apples)
